Call for Organizers: VDP Summer School 2026 - Deadline Extension: November 10th

Dear members of the VDP, Please notice the extension of the deadline for summer school proposals. Best regards, Raphael The Vienna Doctoral School of Philosophy is seeking proposals for the sixth edition of its summer school, to take place in 2026. We're currently accepting proposals for organizing and leading our next year's Summer School. Deadline: 10 November 2025 23:59 (CET) Funding: The VDP will cover organizational costs for the conferences, as well as travel expenses for international and local instructors. How to apply? Interested parties should submit a proposal for the upcoming Summer School, which should not exceed 2-3 pages. The proposal should include: 1. Suggested title(s) 2. A description of the summer school 3. Target audience(s) (e.g., late master's students, PhD students, postdocs) 4. Dates 5. Organizing team, including VDP members, postdocs and faculty (ideally up to 4 to 5 members) 6. List of possible instructors 7. Description of the teaching formats (lectures, workshops, group discussions) and daily activities 8. A detailed budget plan (summer schools may charge a fee). VDP doctoral researchers must consult the Funding Request and Reimbursement Guidelines document when preparing this plan. Additionally, organizers are encouraged to seek additional funding. Who can apply? A team of VDP members (VDP doctoral researchers, and VDP supervisory and non-supervisory faculty). PhilPublica Workshop in Wien: Der philosophische Kurz-Essay in der Zeitung

Liebe alle, der FWF Cluster of Excellence "Knowledge in Crisis" organisiert in Kooperation mit der GAP Philosophie im März 2026 einen "Public Philosophy Workshop" in Wien. In drei Tagen, unter Anleitung von Lina Paulitsch (Der Falter) und Eva Stanzl (Wiener Zeitung), verfassen Teilnehmer*innen einen philosophischen Kurzessay und erhalten Tipps und Wissen zum Veröffentlichen. Bewerben können sich Philosophie-Master-Studierende (BA-Abschluss also vorausgesetzt), Promovierende der Philosophie, Philosophie-PostDocs und alle, deren Philosophie-Master-Abschluss oder Promotion nicht länger als zwei Jahre zurückliegt.
