2. Interim Director - Prof. Arne Moritz:
During Prof. Benjamin Schneider's sabbatical this semester, Prof. Arne
Moritz [arne.holger.moritz(a)univie.ac.at] will take over as Director of
the VDP.

3. Steering Committee Meetings:
Our Steering Committee will be meeting twice this semester, at the
beginning of April and mid-June. If you wish to bring topics to their
agenda, please contact your student representatives, Lisa Tragbar

4. New ECTs rules:
There are new rules for the distribution of the compulsory 24 ECTS
credits in your programme. The rule that doctoral students must complete
15 ECTs in doctoral seminars has been removed, and the distribution of
the 24 ECTs will be decided between you and your supervisor in the
Doctoral Agreement, and modified through the Annual Progress Reports.
The Director of Studies will approve the proposed distribution, taking
into account whether or not it is beneficial either to your PhD project
or to your training and career. Please read the whole new entry of the

5. Spaces for non salaried students:
You can register for the pilot for hot desks for non-salaried students.

6. Student Assembly:
Please save the date for our student assembly.
The Student Assembly of the Summer Semester 2025, which will take place
on Monday, 17 March from 18:30 to 20:00 in Room 2i, NIG (2nd floor,
Universitätsstraße 7, 1010 Vienna).
Your student representatives will be contacting you soon on this.
After the assembly, there will be time for networking over pizza and
drinks. In order to calculate our needs, we kindly ask you to register
your attendance by emailing mira.magdalena.sickinger(a)univie.ac.at.

Information on the Pragmatic Academic Series for this semester will be
coming soon. I hope to seeing some of you later at the semester academic
writing workshop.
