Die Abteilung Ethik in der Medizin (Leitung: Prof. Dr. Mark Schweda) der
Fakultät VI Medizin und Gesundheitswissenschaften der Carl von Ossietzky
Universität, Oldenburg, schreibt die folgende Promotionsstelle aus:
Die Abteilung "Ethik in der Medizin" beschäftigt sich in Forschung und
Lehre mit ethischen Fragen im Kontext von Medizin und
Gesundheitsversorgung. Die ausgeschriebene Stelle ist in einem
Teilprojekt der DFG Forschungsgruppe 5022 „Medizin und die Zeitstruktur
guten Lebens" (Sprecher: Prof. Dr. Mark Schweda, Oldenburg) angesiedelt.
Die einzustellende Person trägt zur ethischen Auseinandersetzung mit der
Zeitstruktur guten Lebens im Kontext der Altersmedizin bei. Im
Mittelpunkt des Teilprojektes steht die Frage nach dem Zusammenhang
zwischen alter(n)sbezogenen Formen der Gesundheitsversorgung
(Allgemeinmedizin, Geriatrie, Pflege) und Vorstellungen guten,
gelingenden Alter(n)s in intergenerationellen Zusammenhängen. Dabei
werden theoretisch-philosophisch ausgerichtete Überlegungen zum guten
Alter(n) durch eine ethische Analyse sozialwissenschaftlicher und
medienkulturwissenschaftlicher Forschungsergebnisse angereichert. Auf
diese Weise sollen individualistische Verständnisse von Glück, Sinn und
Wohlergehen durch eine empirisch informierte ethische Betrachtung
ergänzt werden, die die Bedeutung von Generativität für ein gutes Altern
im Kontext von Medizin und Gesundheitsversorgung berücksichtigt.
Einstellungsvoraussetzungen:
* Ein mindestens gut (2,0) abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches
Hochschulstudium (Master / Diplom (Uni)) der Philosophie, Theologie,
Gerontologie, Geistes- bzw. Kulturwissenschaften, angewandten Ethik oder
verwandter Studiengänge
* Ein erkennbares Interesse an ethischen Fragestellungen im Kontext
von Altern, Intergenerationalität und/oder Medizin
* Kenntnisse von Methoden qualitativer Sozialforschung (praktische
Arbeitserfahrung erwünscht)
* Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
* Ein hohes Maß an Selbstständigkeit, Teamfähigkeit und Bereitschaft

Ethik-Zentrum neu gegründet. Es wird als Plattform für Spitzenforschung,
Lehre und Transferaktivitäten zu Themen der Ethik, des
wissenschaftlichen Studiums normativer Fragen und Konflikte sowie der
Verantwortung in Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft dienen.
An diesem neu zu gründenden Ethik-Zentrum der Ruprecht-Karls-Universität
Heidelberg wird ein*e
Geschäftsführer*in (m/w/d) (50 %)
gesucht.
Die Position steht zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt zunächst bis zum
31.12.2026 zur Verfügung. Eine Verlängerung und Aufstockung auf 100% ab
dem 01.01.2027 wird angestrebt. Der Arbeitsort ist Heidelberg.
Ihre Aufgaben:
* Administrativer Aufbau des Ethik-Zentrums in der Gründungsphase;
* Koordination und operative Leitung des Zentrums;
* Verwaltung von Finanzen;
* Aufbau des wissenschaftlichen und zivilgesellschaftlichen Netzwerks;
* Organisation von Tagungen und anderen Veranstaltungen.
Ihr Profil:
* Abgeschlossenes Studium und möglichst Promotion in einem thematisch
einschlägigen Fach;
* Bereitschaft und Fähigkeit zur Zusammenarbeit mit
Wissenschaftler*innen unterschiedlicher Disziplinen;
* Erfahrungen im Wissenschaftsmanagement und Verständnis universitärer
Organisationsstrukturen
* Erfahrungen in der Koordination von Forschungsprojekten
* Erfahrungen in der Mittelverwaltung (Drittmittel, Haushaltsmittel),
idealerweise im öffentlichen Dienst

The position is initially limited to three years and may be extended for
another three years.
We seek a junior candidate with a strong research profile in
contemporary metaphysics or philosophy of physics or philosophy of mind.
The candidate must be prepared to teach two courses (introductory or
advanced) per semester (4 hours per week) in various areas of
theoretical philosophy. The courses may be taught in German or English.

Konferenz: The Normative Dimension
The conference is devoted to clarifying the nature of normativity in
core areas of theoretical and practical philosophy, such as philosophy
of language, philosophy of action, ethics, and epistemology. The
questions to be addressed include (but are not limited) to:
* Does linguistic meaning have an essentially normative dimension? Is
language governed by rules? Can there be linguistic normativity without
rules?
* What place do norms occupy in a morality or moral outlook? What is
the relationship between norms and values? Can culpability be defined in
terms of norms?
* Does knowledge or justification depend on norms? What are epistemic
norms? Can they be defined instrumentally?
* What is the relation between norms and reasons for action? Are
action explanations inherently normative? Is normativity a stumbling
block for naturalism?

14. Interdisziplinäres Kolloquium: Respekt und Vielfalt
18. Juli 2025, Hamburg
Die RespectResearchGroup (RRG) lädt Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen
(MA-Studierende, Promovierende und Postdocs) aller Fachrichtungen ein,
sich über interdisziplinäre Grenzen hinweg über den Respektbegriff
auszutauschen. Das diesjährige Kolloquium legt dabei einen Schwerpunkt
auf Fragen rund um das Thema Vielfalt. Wir möchten dies unter einem
möglichst breiten Verständnis des Begriffs tun und freuen uns über
verschiedenste Perspektiven aus unterschiedlichen Fachbereichen. Als
Keynotespeaker dürfen wir Prof. Herzog, den Leiter des Ethical
Innovation Hubs an der Universität zu Lübeck, begrüßen.
Das Kolloquium bietet einen offenen Gedanken- und Fragenaustausch, um
gemeinsam anregende multidisziplinäre Perspektiven für unsere
individuellen Forschungsfragen zu erarbeiten. Die Präsentationen können

Call for submissions for discussion session: Feminist Logic, Ruhr
University Bochum, August 29-30, 2025
Feminist Logic is a relatively new but upcoming area of study. Work in
this field sheds light on sexist (and other) biases in the area of
logic. This is a very broad conception but it captures the diversity of
the area of Feminist Logic. More specifically, Feminist Logic can
mean...
* ... to use logical tools for feminist ends, e.g., to uncover biases
in arguments or to model social hierarchies to make patriarchal
structures explicit,
* ... to look at the history of logic from a feminist perspective,
e.g., by revealing so far disregarded contributions by female logicians
and exposing exclusionary practices that led to their invisibility,
* ... to consider teaching practices in logic and how those
disadvantage certain underrepresented groups,
* ... to devise, revise and/or argue for logical systems from a
distinctly feminist perspective, e.g., certain logical systems may seem
better or worse suited for formalizing feminist arguments.
This workshop aims at sharing and discussing the latest research in this
area by bringing together both highly distinguished as well as early
career researchers.

Members of groups that are underrepresented in logic are especially
encouraged to submit.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The 4th International Gottlob Frege Conference will take place from 15th
to 20th September 2025 in the Hanseatic town of Wismar, where the
renowned mathematician and philosopher Gottlob Frege was born in 1848
and buried in 1925. This conference, held in the 100th year of his
death, is continuing a series of scientific meetings dedicated to the
work of Frege and its connections to modern science. This year, the
conference will focus on five key areas:
- A comparison of Frege's logic concept with historical and modern
approaches,
- Frege's contributions to foundation of mathematics and modern
developments
- Frege's linguistic analyses and modern analytic philosophy,
- Frege's polemics and the culture of scientific debates,
- The ongoing influence of Frege's work in modern science.
Conference languages are German or English. We cordially invite you to
attend this conference and to give a presentation on the work of Frege
and its impact on modern science (45 minutes including discussion). For

we are pleased to announce the following book symposium on Roman Frigg's
(2022) monograph "_Models and Theories - A Philosophical Inquiry [6]_ ".
This symposium honours Roman Frigg's comprehensive contribution to the
philosophy of science by inviting commentary from contemporary scholars
to explore implications for current issues in metaphysics, epistemology,
history of philosophy, and other areas. Short presentations are followed
by a discussion.
The event will take place on the 03. - 04.05.2025 at the University of

We are delighted to announce The 4th Munich Lectures in Ethics, to be
held from June 3-5, 2025 at LMU Munich's Center for Ethics and
Philosophy in Practice. Under the title "Autonomy, Consent, Liberalism,"
David Enoch--Professor of the Philosophy of Law and Fellow of Balliol
College at the University of Oxford, as well as Rodney Blackman Chair in
the Philosophy of Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem--will
present three lectures exploring the nature and value of autonomy, the
complexities of consent, and a bold reimagining of liberalism. Following
each lecture, a distinguished commentator will offer a response, with
ample time for open discussion.
As in previous years, The Munich Lectures in Ethics will be published by
Oxford University Press, edited by Laura Valentini and overseen by
series editor Monika Betzler. Previous speakers in the series include
Philip Kitcher (2019), Baroness Onora O'Neill (2021), and Susan Wolf
(2023).

Konferenz: Humans of Late Capitalism
Tagung Humans of Late Capitalism. Subjektivierungsformen und die
Aktualität Kritischer Theorie.
Kapitalismus erscheint uns als etwas Äußerliches. Die gesellschaftliche
Produktion ist kapitalistisch organisiert ebenso wie die Weise, wie in
unserer Gesellschaft Waren verteilt werden. Betrifft uns Kapitalismus
aber nicht auf eine viel grundlegendere Art? Bedingt er, wie wir als
Individuen denken, fühlen, handeln und begehren? Formt er die
Beziehungen, in denen wir mit anderen und unserer Umwelt stehen? Diese
Fragen sollen im Rahmen der Tagung unter dem Schlagwort der
spätkapitalistischen Subjektivierung in den Blick genommen werden.
Diskutiert werden sie mithilfe der methodischen und begrifflichen Mittel
der Kritischen Theorie und in einem interdisziplinären Austausch
zwischen Philosophie, Soziologie und Psychologie. Zudem werden sie nicht
abstrakt, sondern konkret thematisiert - einerseits anhand der
Phänomene kapitalistischer Prägung von persönlichen Beziehungen und
Arbeitsformen und andererseits mit Blick auf den wiedererstarkten
Autoritarismus sowie unseren Umgang mit der Klimakrise. Leitend ist
dabei wiederum die Frage, wie sich diese Phänomene
spätkapitalistischer Subjektivierung mithilfe der Begriffe und Methoden
Kritischer Theorie erfassen und kritisieren lassen.
