Dear EENPS members
We are pleased to announce the relaunch of our Mentorship Scheme for
Early Career Scholars. This program is designed to support graduate
students and postdoctoral researchers working in philosophy of science
and related areas. Especially, but not exclusively, from, based in, or
otherwise connected to Eastern Europe.
Applications are open year-round, there is no deadline to apply.
The mentorship program pairs early-career scholars with experienced
mentors from the EENPS community, selected based on similar research
backgrounds and professional interests. Mentors can provide their
mentees with support and advice on a wide range of career-related
matters, including:
● Providing feedback on their papers
● Offering guidance on relevant literature related to their
research
● Advising on how to write a strong philosophy paper
● Research development and publishing strategies
● Grant and funding applications
● Preparing job application materials (CVs, cover letters,
research statements, etc.)
● Interview preparation and job market strategies
● Emotional support and navigating the challenges of academic
life
Whether you are seeking guidance on your current research, preparing for
the next stage in your academic career, or looking for advice on
securing funding, the EENPS mentorship scheme is here to assist you.
How it works:
After submitting your application, the EENPS will carefully review your
profile and match you with a mentor who can best support your goals and
needs.
Eligibility:
● Graduate students (Master’s and PhD levels)
● Postdoctoral researchers
● Scholars in the early stages of their academic careers
● Scholars seeking to move to a new academic position
● Working in philosophy of science or closely related fields
How to apply:
Interested applicants should send the following to the
eenphilsci(a)gmail.com:
● A brief description of your academic background and research
interests
● A statement of the kind of mentorship you are seeking
● Optional: A writing sample
For any questions about the scheme or the application process, please
contact Zdenka Brzović at zbrzovic(a)gmail.com
Best wishes,
Your Steering Committee of the East European Network for Philosophy of
Science
