Led by Donata Romizi and Michael Staudigl, it will first focus on the structure of applications for external teaching positions, the expectations of decision-making committees, and clues for writing a good application. The second part will focus on teaching preparation. Speakers will share their views on how to teach philosophy in a way that promotes reading, writing and critical thinking skills to undergraduate students, managing their expectations, presenting philosophical ideas, motivating class discussions, assigning homework, and giving feedback. This event is aimed primarily at PhD candidates in philosophy.
